Academic Profile
- School/University: Name and optional verified .edu email domain
- Academic Details: Major/field of study and academic year (e.g., Freshman, Senior)
- Privacy Preferences: Settings for profile visibility and collaboration features
Academic Content
- Semesters: Term names, dates, and GPA targets
- Courses: Course names, codes, instructors, locations, credit hours, and grade targets
- Assignments: Names, types, due dates, points, grades, completion status, and notes
- Calendar Events: Event details, times, locations (including addresses and coordinates), and recurrence patterns
- Study Sessions: Start/end times, duration, pause history, location type (e.g., Library, Coffee Shop), and self-reported productivity ratings
File Attachments
- Syllabus Photos: Images captured via camera or selected from your photo library
- Assignment Attachments: Documents and images you attach to assignments
Subscription Information
- Purchase History: Subscription status, plan type, purchase dates, and renewal information
- Payment Processing: Handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or other platform providers—we do not collect or store payment card details
Device Permissions
- Camera: To capture photos of syllabi (requested only when you use this feature)
- Photo Library: To select existing photos for syllabi or attachments
- Location: To record study locations and provide location context for events (optional)
- Notifications: To send reminders about assignments, classes, and study sessions
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used to:
- Provide core app functionality (managing courses, assignments, schedules, and grades)
- Sync your data across your Apple devices when signed in
- Send notifications about upcoming deadlines and scheduled events
- Process and manage your subscription
- Diagnose technical issues and improve app stability

Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored locally on your device for offline access and synced to secure cloud servers when you sign in. We implement industry-standard security measures:
- Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers uses TLS encryption
- Encryption at Rest: Stored data is encrypted on our servers
- Row-Level Security: Database policies ensure you can only access your own data
- Secure Authentication: Passwords are never stored—we use secure token-based authentication

We use carefully selected third-party services to operate the App:
Analytics
We use a privacy-focused analytics service to collect anonymized usage statistics. This helps us understand which features are used and how to improve the app. Our analytics provider does not collect personally identifiable information.

Educational Records
StudyKit stores educational information including grades and academic schedules. While we are not an educational institution subject to FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act), we treat your academic data with the same level of care:
- Your grades and academic records are private to you
- We do not share your academic data with schools, employers, or other third parties
- You maintain full control over your educational information
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: View all your personal data within the app
- Portability: Export your data at any time
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data
- Correction: Update or correct your information at any time
- Withdraw Consent: Disable cloud sync, revoke device permissions, or opt-out of analytics

Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

Children's Privacy
StudyKit is designed for students of all ages, including high school students. For users under 13:
- We require parental or guardian consent for account creation
- We collect only information necessary for app functionality
- Parents can request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's data
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information without parental consent, please contact us immediately.
International Users
Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the App, you consent to this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers.
